Grants and Sponsorship from the BACG
The British Association for Crystal Growth (BACG) provides financial support to promote engagement, collaboration, and knowledge exchange within the crystal growth community. Through targeted funding for both individual members and event organisers, BACG helps to strengthen scientific interaction and advance its field of interest.
Support for BACG Members (Travel Grants)
BACG offers Travel Grants to support its members in attending conferences relevant to crystal growth or in visiting the laboratories of other BACG members. This funding is intended to encourage active participation, collaboration, and knowledge exchange within the crystal growth community, in line with the BACG constitution. Applications must be made using the travel grant application form, available in the Members’ Area of the BACG website. Reports from supported activities will be shared on the BACG website and included in the BACG newsletter.
Support for Conference Organisers
BACG also considers requests for financial assistance to support the promotion and organisation of national and international conferences, meetings, and workshops on topics relevant to crystal growth. Organisers wishing to apply for support are encouraged to review the published guidelines before submitting a request, to ensure alignment with the Association’s aims and priorities.
Sponsorship Guidelines for Conference Organisers
- Financial support is normally provided as a recoverable float to cover start-up costs.
- Conferences must align with the aims and objectives of BACG.
- Requests should be submitted using the form below as early as possible and are considered confidentially by the Committee.
- Applications must include a projected budget.
- BACG will be acknowledged as a sponsor in all conference materials.
- BACG may nominate a member of the organising committee who can attend free of charge.
- The agreed float will be returned when final accounts are closed, with any surplus or loss shared proportionally among sponsors.
- A copy of the final conference account must be provided.
- Any additional conditions are at the discretion of the BACG Committee.
